The structure of a template is also called graphic layout and aims to paginate, in a fluid manner,  the content of a web page and to make the website unique thanks to the template details: colors, fonts, design.

How to choose a template?

The basics for creating a good website are:

  • The theme
  • The various plugins installed

To ensure that the chosen theme is compatible with the installed plugins, it is important to understand how the template being viewed manages the different zones or areas of the page.

Most templates used on the web have pre-set areas:

  • The main menu
  • The sidebars: these are additional columns to the content of the page, which can be filled through Widgets
  • The footer: the bottom part of the page

      Types of Templates

      There are three types of templates:

      • Single column or 2 or 3 columns: the choice of this template depends on how you want to distribute the content within the graphic layout;
      • Flash templates: the choice of this template is based on the graphic design you wish to use;
      • Free and paid: free themes, which means they are free of charge, but their use is subject to having the author's signature on your website; the paid ones, on the other hand, offer more advanced performance.
