This guide explains how to configure a post display block (Blog Posts) to show only posts belonging to specific categories, using the Visual Builder.
This procedure applies to the Posts block (or Category Posts / Search Posts), which manages the display of post lists on the frontend.
Step-by-step Procedure
1. Access the Block Settings:
In the Visual Builder, click on the block that displays the list of posts (for example, the "Posts" block) and click on the settings icon (usually a gear) to open the configuration panel.
2. Select the Display Mode:
In the settings section, locate the field titled Posts to Show.
- Click on the field and select the option Select Category.
3. Choose the Categories:
Once the mode is selected, a new field labeled Select Categories will appear below.
- Click on this field and choose one or more categories from the dropdown list. The displayed posts will be filtered based on this selection.
4. Define the Selection Method (Optional):
If you have selected multiple categories, you can specify how the filters should be applied:
- Select the option Must be in all categories if you want the displayed posts to belong to all the chosen categories simultaneously.
- Leave the option unchecked (default setting) if you want the displayed posts to belong to at least one of the chosen categories.
5. Save and Apply:
After setting the categories and, if necessary, the selection method, save the block settings and publish the page to make the changes effective on the site.
