Create a new WhatsApp automation action

This guide explains how to set up an automatic action for sending WhatsApp messages within an automation flow, using the Whatsender plugin.

Audience: Non-technical users.

How to Create a WhatsApp Automation Message

When you add a new step to your automation flow, select the action Send WhatsApp Message (Whatsender).

The configuration screen titled Create WhatsApp will open, under the WhatsApp Settings section.

Follow these steps to configure the message:

1. Basic Settings

1. In the Message Title field, enter an internal name to identify this action (e.g., "Welcome Notification").

2. In the Message field, write the content that will be sent on WhatsApp.

  • Note: You can use shortcodes (custom variables) listed in the table above to automatically insert specific customer data (such as first name, last name, etc.).

2. Recipient Definition

1. In the Recipient dropdown field, choose who to send the message to:

  • Select Default to send the message to the contact who triggered the automation.
  • Select Custom if you want to manually specify one or more phone numbers.

2. If you chose "Custom," the Custom Recipient field will appear. Enter here the desired phone numbers, separated by commas.

3. Advanced Options (Optional)

1. In the Custom Token field, you can enter a specific API code (Token) for this sending if you do not want to use the default token configured in the system. If left empty, the default token will be used.

2. Under the label Attachments, you can upload files (such as images or PDFs) to include in the message.

4. Saving

Once configuration is complete, save the action to add it to your automation flow.

> Attention! Mass sending of messages may result in blocks by WhatsApp that are beyond the system's control. Please consult the FAQ for more information.
