This guide shows you how to set up an automatic action to send WhatsApp messages to your contacts within a Marketing Automation flow.
Important Notice:
Mass sending of messages may result in blocks by WhatsApp. It is recommended to consult the FAQ for more information.
Procedure
1. Open the WhatsApp action editor (the screen will be titled Create WhatsApp or Edit WhatsApp).
2. In the WhatsApp Settings section, fill in the following fields:
a. Message title
: Enter an internal name to easily identify this action in your automation flow.
b. Recipient
: Choose who will receive the message:
- Select Default (the phone number of the contact associated with the automation).
- Select Custom to specify one or more external phone numbers.
c. Custom recipient (Visible only if you chose "Custom")
: Enter one or more phone numbers (comma-separated, if supported) to send the message to.
d. Custom token
: If you need to use a WhatsApp instance different from the default one, enter its Token here. If left empty, the system token will be used.
e. Attachments
: Click on the field to upload files to attach to the message. Supported files are images (JPEG, PNG) and PDF. You can upload up to 3 attachments.
f. Message
: Write your WhatsApp message content.
- You can use the Shortcodes listed above to personalize the message with recipient data.
- The message must not exceed 1530 characters.
3. Click the save button (not shown in this screen) to confirm and save the new WhatsApp sending action.
