This guide explains how to link the variable parameters present in your WhatsApp template (called shortcodes) to the actual data available for the event triggering the send (for example, a Webhook or a Marketing Automation action).
Mapping Wati template parameters to event data
This procedure is performed in the Assegnazione shortcode section, available both in the Webhook settings and in the Marketing Automation steps (Action: Send WhatsApp message).
Mapping Procedure
1. In the settings section, find the label Seleziona template.
2. Use the dropdown menu to select the Wati template you want to send.
- Note: If the selected template has no variable parameters, the message "Il template selezionato non possiede nessuno shortcode personalizzabile." will be displayed.
3. After selecting the template, the Assegnazione shortcode section will update, showing all parameters (shortcodes) required by the Wati template.
4. For each required parameter, identified as Valore NOME_PARAMETRO, you must select the data source from the adjacent dropdown menu.
5. The dropdown menu offers three main groups of data:
- Specifici: Contains data collected directly from the event that triggered the action (for example, data sent from a form or a Webhook).
- Standard: Contains common customer data available in the system (such as first name, last name, email, etc.).
- Personalizzato: Select the Valore statico option if you want to enter fixed text that does not change based on the customer or event.
6. If you choose the Valore statico option, an additional text field will appear. Enter the desired value in the field with placeholder Inserisci testo personalizzato....
7. Repeat steps 4-6 for all parameters required by the Wati template.
8. When finished, click Salva or Salva modifiche (depending on your context) to apply the mapping.
