Description: Allows sending personalized notifications and messages via WhatsApp to customers, integrating communication into marketing automations and system notifications.
What is it for? (Practical examples)
Use this tool to improve communication with your customers through the WhatsApp channel:
- Immediate order confirmations: Automatically send a WhatsApp message to the customer as soon as they complete a purchase, including the summary and a PDF attachment of the invoice.
- Abandoned cart recovery: Set up an automation that sends a personalized reminder via WhatsApp to customers who have not completed their purchase.
- Service notifications: Replace standard system emails (e.g., status changes, shipping alerts) with more direct and immediate WhatsApp messages.
- Direct communication: Manage incoming and outgoing conversations through a single messaging panel.
Main features
- Sending personalized messages: Use dynamic fields (shortcodes) to automatically insert customer data (name, surname, order details, etc.) directly into the message text.
- Attachment management: Include multimedia files or important documents in the message. Attachments in JPEG, PNG, and PDF formats are supported (up to 3 files per message).
- Marketing Automation: Add sending WhatsApp messages as an action within your marketing campaigns (funnels).
- Sender customization (Token): You can specify a "Custom Token" for sending messages, allowing you to use different WhatsApp accounts depending on the campaign or template.
- Recipient management: You can choose whether to send the message to the customer's default registered phone number or specify one or more custom numbers (separated by commas).
How to configure
To start using Uozap, you need to connect the service using credentials provided by the Uozap provider.
1. Initial connection
In the plugin configuration section (OAuth), you will need to enter the following data:
| Option | Description |
|---|---|
| Api Key | The authentication key provided by Uozap for accessing the service. |
| Default device | The identifier of the device or gateway that will be used by default for sending messages unless otherwise specified. |
2. Creating a Marketing action
When creating a new step in an automation campaign, select the action "Send WhatsApp message".
| Field | Purpose | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Title | Internal name of the action in your funnel. | |
| Recipient | Choose whether to use the customer's number (Default) or enter specific numbers (Custom). | Custom numbers must be separated by commas. |
| Custom token | Sending key specific for this single automation. | If left empty, the configured Default Device will be used. |
| Attachments | Upload files to include in the message. | Maximum 3 files (JPG/PNG images or PDFs). |
| Message | The textual content of the WhatsApp message. | Use available shortcodes to customize the text. |
> Warning: Mass sending of messages may lead to blocks by WhatsApp. It is recommended to consult official FAQs for sending guidelines.
Automatic integrations
Replacement of system notifications (Templates)
The Uozap module integrates with the template management system (or "Mail Overwriter"), allowing you to redirect standard communications (which would otherwise be sent via email) directly to WhatsApp.
For each configurable system template, you will have the following options specific for WhatsApp:
- Message title: Used for internal reference and translation.
- Message content: The text that will be sent via WhatsApp.
- Custom token: Overrides the system's default device for this specific template.
- Attachments: Files to send with the message.
- Custom recipient: Fixed numbers where messages should be sent (if not going to the customer).
Messaging and Chat
The plugin adds the message type "Whatsapp (Uozap)" to your messaging panel. This allows you to:
1. Receive messages: View and manage incoming messages from customers.
2. Send replies: Respond directly to customers through the system interface using the connected WhatsApp account.
Key differences
This tool is specifically designed for sending messages via Uozap's API. If you need to send traditional SMS or use other notification channels, you will need dedicated modules for those services. Uozap is optimized for instant and multimedia communication on WhatsApp.
