Guide to Configuring the Automatic "Points" Action

This guide explains how to configure an automatic action within a marketing flow to modify a customer's points balance (add, remove, or set a specific value).

Procedure

1. Access the editing section of the automatic "Points" action within your marketing campaign.

2. In the Points section, locate the Operation field.

3. Click on the dropdown menu and select the type of modification you want to apply to the customer's points balance:

  • Add: Adds the specified value to the customer's current points balance.
  • Remove: Removes the specified value from the customer's current points balance.
  • Set: Sets the customer's points balance to the exact specified value. If the customer already has a higher or lower balance, the action will calculate the necessary difference to reach that value.

4. In the Points Value field, enter the number of points you wish to add, remove, or set.

  • Note: You can use dynamic shortcodes (shown in the table above) if the value depends on specific customer or campaign data.

5. In the Notes field, enter a description for this operation. This note is useful for internal tracking and can be displayed to the customer in their points history.

  • Tip: You can also use shortcodes here to make the note dynamic (for example, to include the campaign name).

6. After configuring the action, make sure to save the step (usually by clicking a Save or Save Changes button in the main automation interface).
