Why do it
Meta Tags are used to provide specific information to search engines or the browser regarding the page content. Changing the tag name is necessary to specify the function it should perform (for example, keywords or description).
Procedure
Follow these steps to change the name of an existing Meta Tag:
1. Log in to the administration panel and navigate to the website settings section.
2. Find and open the configuration of the Meta tags module.
3. Locate the Meta Tag you want to modify within the list. Each tag is displayed on a separate row.
4. In the column labeled Name, delete the existing text and type the new name you want to assign to the Meta Tag.
- Note: The system only accepts lowercase letters, uppercase letters, and hyphens (
-) in the Name field.
5. Once you have completed the modification, scroll down to the bottom of the page and click the button to save changes (usually labeled Save or Save changes).
