This guide explains how to customize the message shown to non-subscribed users who attempt to access restricted content.
This configuration applies directly to the settings of the Page or Article you have protected through Membership plans.
Procedure to Modify the Error Message
1. Access the Protected Page
Navigate to the section of your system where you manage Pages or Blog Articles and open the item that is restricted by a Membership plan.
2. Open the Membership Tab
Within the Page/Article editing settings, look for and click on the tab titled Membership.
3. Enable the Custom Message
In the Membership tab, locate the section related to the error message. You will find two main fields:
- Limit viewing to the following plans (where you selected the plans required for access).
- Message for unauthorized users.
Under the label Message for unauthorized users, check the box next to:
- Show custom error message
4. Edit the Message Content
After checking the box, a text area labeled Message for unauthorized users will appear below.
Use the visual editor (VisualBuilder) in this area to insert or modify text, images, or layout that you want to display to users who do not have permission to view the content.
5. Save Changes
Once you have completed customizing the message, make sure to save the Page or Article to apply the changes.
The new custom message will now be displayed to all users who do not have one of the required Membership subscriptions needed to view that content.
