Why do it:
Using shortcodes allows you to customize the marketing message with specific recipient data (such as first name, last name, or other details) to make the communication more effective.
Writing the Marketing Message Content (Using Shortcodes)
Follow these steps to compose your WhatsApp message content and insert dynamic elements:
1. Access the WhatsApp Settings section (or WhatsApp Settings if you are editing an action in an automation).
2. At the top of the screen, you will find a table listing all available shortcodes (for example {customername}, {customeremail}, etc.).
3. Locate the text field labeled Message.
4. Write your marketing message content in this field.
5. To insert personalized data (such as the customer's name), copy the corresponding shortcode from the reference table (for example, {customer_name}).
6. Paste the shortcode directly into the Message text at the exact point where you want the data to appear.
- Example: If you write
Hello {customername}, we have news for you!, the system will replace{customername}with the recipient's name at the time of sending.
7. Make sure your message does not exceed the maximum limit of 1530 characters.
8. When finished, click on the button to save the action (the button text may vary depending on your context, for example Save or Update).
