Why do it: To customize the appearance of the page shown to visitors when the site is temporarily taken offline for maintenance.
Procedure
1. Enable Maintenance Mode
1. Access your site's general settings.
2. In the "General" section, find and check the box:
Set website 'Under Maintenance'
3. Choose the desired Blocking Mode:
- Select Block by IP to block access to everyone except specific IP addresses.
- Select Block non-logged-in customers to allow access only to users who have logged in.
4. If you chose "Block by IP," enter the IP addresses that should have access to the site in the Whitelist IP field.
5. If you want to add your current IP to the list, click the Use my IP button.
6. Save the settings changes.
2. Edit the Page Content
Maintenance pages are private pages that can be edited via the visual editor (Visual Builder).
1. Access your site's private page editor.
2. Identify and edit the appropriate page based on the blocking mode you activated:
- If you chose "Block by IP," edit the page named Maintenance Page.
- If you chose "Block non-logged-in customers," edit the page named Login Required.
3. Within the visual editor, you can use available blocks to customize the design.
4. In the list of blocks, you will find the category Maintenance.
5. Drag the Countdown block onto the page if you want to display a countdown until the site reopens.
6. If using the Countdown block, set the site opening date (the block is described as Site Opening Countdown).
7. Save your changes to the page.
