Set the mandatory request for user data before starting the chat

Why do it: To ensure that users provide their contact information (such as name and email) before starting a new conversation.

Procedure

1. Log in to the admin panel and navigate to the Live Chat plugin settings.

2. Click on the Display tab.

3. Locate the section labeled Data Request.

4. In the dropdown menu, select the option Mandatory Data Request.

5. Once the mandatory option is selected, a new field labeled Registration Form will appear. Click on this field and select the form you want to use to collect user data.

6. Optional: If you want to change the text that appears above the registration form in the chat, navigate to the Messages tab and edit the content of the Registration Form field.

7. Click the button to save changes (usually located at the bottom of the page or at the top right) to apply the new settings.

From now on, users will be required to fill out the registration form before they can type their first message in the chat.
