This guide explains how to set up rules for requesting personal data (such as name and email) from users before they can start a conversation via Live Chat.
Procedure
1. Log in to the administration panel and go to the Live Chat plugin settings.
2. Click on the Display tab.
3. Scroll down to the section labeled Data Request.
4. Select the desired option from the dropdown menu:
- Do not request data: The chat starts immediately without asking the user for information.
- Mandatory data request: The user must fill out a form before sending the first message.
5. If you chose Mandatory data request, the Registration Form field will appear. In this field, select the data collection form (created previously) that you want to show to the user.
6. Click on the Messages tab.
7. In the Registration Form field, enter the introductory text that will appear above the data collection form (for example: "Where can we contact you if you get disconnected?").
8. Click the button to save changes (usually Save Changes or Apply).
