Description: Allows you to connect the Framework360 system directly to GoodCom thermal printers, automating order sending and status management.
What is it for? (Practical examples)
This tool is essential for businesses that use GoodCom thermal printers for order management (e.g., restaurants, delivery services, or take-away).
- Automates printing: Every new order received on your website is automatically sent to the GoodCom printer, eliminating the need for manual entry.
- Real-time updates: The printer can communicate to the system whether the order has been accepted or rejected, immediately updating the order status in your control panel.
- Accurate details: Ensures all order details (products, quantities, prices, customer data, and shipping notes) are correctly formatted for thermal printing.
Main features
The GoodCom module manages the entire order lifecycle between your system and the printing device.
- Order preparation: Intercepts newly created orders (usually those requiring manual confirmation, such as cash on delivery or pickup) and queues them for sending.
- Formatted sending: Automatically converts complex order data (cart, shipping details, payment method) into a structured text string readable by the GoodCom printer.
- Feedback handling: Receives confirmation or rejection from the printer and accordingly updates the order status in the system.
How to configure it
Configuration requires entering two specific web addresses (URLs), automatically generated by the system, which must be copied and pasted into your GoodCom device settings or printer management service.
Access the Settings section of the GoodCom module to view the necessary parameters:
| Field name | Description | Required action |
|---|---|---|
| Order reception URL | The address that the printer must query to receive the next pending order to print. | Copy this URL and paste it into the printer's polling settings. |
| Callback URL | The address that the printer uses to communicate the order status (Accepted or Rejected) back to the system. | Copy this URL and paste it into the printer's callback settings. |
Note: Both URLs contain a unique security token ensuring that only your GoodCom device can communicate with your system.
Automatic integrations
Automatic status management
When the GoodCom printer sends a response via the callback URL, the system performs these actions:
| Printer response | Action in system | Notes added to order |
|---|---|---|
| Accepted | The order status is updated to "Completed". | The confirmation time provided by the printer is recorded. |
| Rejected | The order status is updated to "Cancelled". | The reason for rejection sent by the printer is recorded. |
Order queue
The system continuously checks if there are orders waiting to be printed. After an order has been sent and its status updated (Accepted or Rejected), the system makes the next queued order available, ensuring that the printer always receives the most recent order to process.
