This guide explains how to configure the content and options of an automatic message intended to be sent via Facebook Messenger within an automation flow.
> Attention: To send a message via Facebook Messenger, the customer must have sent a message through Facebook.
1. Basic Message Settings
In the Facebook Messenger Settings section, configure the main details of the message.
1. In the Message Title field, enter an internal name to identify this action in the automation.
2. In the Sender dropdown menu, select the specific Facebook Page that will send the message. Selecting Default will use the page configured in the general settings.
3. In the Attachments field, you can upload files or images to include in the message.
2. Write the Message Content
1. In the Message field, write the text you want to send to the recipient.
- You can use available Shortcodes (visible in the table above the field) to personalize the message with customer data (e.g., name, email).
- The message must be no longer than 1530 characters.
3. Add Buttons (Optional)
You can include up to two interactive buttons in your message, configured in the Include Button and Include Button 2 sections.
To configure the first button:
1. In the Button Title field, enter the text that will appear on the button (e.g., "Visit Website").
2. In the Button Action dropdown menu, select the desired action:
- Link (web_url): Select this option if the button should redirect to an external URL.
- Message (payload): Select this option if clicking the button should send a specific message (useful to start a chatbot or another automation).
3. Depending on the chosen action, fill in the corresponding field:
- If you chose Link, enter the full URL in the Button Link field.
- If you chose Message, enter the text of the message that will be sent in the Button Message field.
Repeat steps 1-3 to configure Button Title 2, Button Action 2, Button Link 2, or Button Message 2 (if you want a second button).
4. Saving
After configuring all settings and message content, make sure to save the action within your automation flow.
