Select the specific custom field to display in the visual builder

This guide explains how to configure a Visual Builder block (such as "Additional Field," "Image," "Text," etc.) to display the content of a specific custom field.

Guide: Selecting the Custom Field in the Visual Builder

This procedure applies after adding a dynamic block (for example, "Additional Field," "Image," "Text," "Number," etc.) to the Visual Builder and opening its settings window.

1. Access Source Settings

In the block settings window, locate the section containing selectors for the data source.

2. Select the Source Module

In the field labeled Source Module, click the dropdown menu and select the module (for example, "Products," "Clients," etc.) associated with the custom field you want to display.

Note: If the module is not present, make sure you have created and saved the custom fields for that module in the system's general settings.

3. Select the Specific Field

After selecting the module, the field labeled Field to Show will automatically update with a list of available custom fields for that module.

Click the dropdown menu and select the name of the desired custom field.

4. Define Record ID (Conditions)

Scroll down to the Conditions settings group.

In the "Main Record ID" field, enter the shortcode that identifies the specific item from which to extract the field value (for example, Product ID or Client ID).

Note: This field is often prefilled with a relevant shortcode based on the page context (e.g., {product-id} if editing a product template).

5. Save Changes

Save the block settings and then save the page or email in the Visual Builder. The block will now display the value of the selected custom field for the specified record.
