This guide explains how to configure a Visual Builder block to display the content of a custom Additional Field, specifying from which module and record to retrieve the information.
Prerequisites
You must have added a block in Visual Builder that supports integration with Additional Fields (for example, "Additional Field," "Text," "Image," etc.).
Step-by-Step Procedure
1. Open Block Settings
Click on the block in Visual Builder to open the settings window.
2. Select the Source Module
In the first section, named "Source" or similar, locate the Source Module field.
Click on the dropdown menu and select the module (e.g., Products, Customers, Billing, etc.) that contains the Additional Field you want to display.
3. Select the Field to Display
Just below, locate the Field to Display field.
The list in this field will automatically update showing only the Additional Fields you have created for the module selected in the previous step. Select the name of the field you want to display.
4. Set Conditions (Record ID)
Scroll down to the Conditions section. This section is crucial to indicate to the system which specific record should be used to retrieve the data.
5. Enter the Main Record ID
In the Main Record ID field, enter the numeric identifier (ID) of the record from which to retrieve the data.
- Note for dynamic content: If the block is used in a dynamic context (such as a transactional email or a product page), you can use available shortcodes to automatically populate this ID.
Once these steps are completed, the Visual Builder block will display the value of the selected Additional Field retrieved from the specified record.
