This guide explains how to define the main logic of a new discount by choosing the desired application type.
Select the discount type
Why do it:
The discount type defines the rules by which the discount will be calculated (for example, whether it is a fixed percentage discount or if it gives away an item based on the quantity purchased).
Procedure:
1. Access the discount management section (or the Sconti cliente tab if you are configuring a specific discount for a customer).
2. If you have not yet created a discount line, click the Aggiungi sconto button to open the configuration panel.
3. In the Titolo field, enter a descriptive name for the discount (for example, "Sconto 10% Black Friday").
4. Locate the dropdown field Tipo di sconto.
5. Click on the dropdown menu and select one of the following options, based on the logic you want to apply:
- Sconto massivo: Applies a fixed discount (percentage or in euros) to specified products or categories.
- Sconto basato sulla quantità acquistata: Applies progressive discounts based on the number of items purchased by the customer.
- Sconto basato sulla quantità in magazzino: Applies discounts based on the quantity of goods available in stock for that product.
- Sconto basato sull'iscrizione alla newsletter: Applies a discount if the customer is subscribed to a specific marketing list.
- Articolo in regalo: Gives away an item (the cheapest or most expensive) based on the quantity of items purchased (e.g., 3x2).
6. After selecting the type, the section below called Preferenze will automatically update showing the specific fields needed to configure the chosen discount type.
7. (Optional) Use the fields Limita applicazione and Escludi dall'applicazione to select specific items or categories to which the discount must or must not be applied.
8. (Optional) In the field Messaggio sopra 'Aggiungi al carrello', you can enter text that will appear on the product page to inform customers about the active offer.
9. Complete configuring the Preferenze specific to the selected discount type.
10. Click Salva (or on the general save button of the page) to activate the discount.
