Define the minimum stay and the surcharge for unmet nights (Backend)

This guide explains how to configure minimum stay rules and apply a surcharge if the user books for fewer nights than required.

Define the minimum stay and surcharge for unmet nights (Backend)

To set up minimum stay rules, you need to access the specific settings of the room or bookable item.

Procedure

1. Access the system Backend and navigate to the room management section (or the bookable item for which you are configuring the rules).

2. Click on the edit button (usually a pencil-shaped icon) next to the desired room.

3. Within the room configuration page, look for and click on the Booking Engine tab.

4. Scroll down to find the area titled Minimum Stay and Surcharge.

5. In the Minimum Stay field:

  • Enter the minimum number of nights a guest must book.
  • The unit of measure is indicated as nights.

6. In the Surcharge in case minimum stay is not met field:

  • Enter the percentage surcharge that will be applied to the total cost if the guest books fewer nights than the Minimum Stay defined above.
  • Note: If you leave this field empty, the system will prevent booking if the minimum stay is not met.

7. After entering the desired values, click on the Save changes button (or equivalent) to apply the new rules to the room.
