This guide describes how to configure specific price ranges for children within a room or accommodation.
Adding and Editing Cost Bands for Children (From / To years, Cost per night)
To define specific nightly prices based on the age of the children staying in the room:
Procedure
1. Access the edit section of the desired room or accommodation in the administration panel.
2. Click on the Booking Engine tab.
3. Scroll down to the section titled Child cost.
General Configuration (Optional)
4. In the Child cost box, locate the "childrens-settings" row.
5. In the Maximum number of children field, enter the maximum number of children that can be accommodated in this room. (The unit of measure is children).
Adding Cost Bands
6. Below the general configuration, you will find the area for entering cost bands. Click the button to add a new row (usually an Add cost band button or a + symbol).
7. A new row will open with fields to define the band:
- From: Enter the minimum age (inclusive) for this price band. The unit of measure is years.
- To: Enter the maximum age (inclusive) for this price band. The unit of measure is years.
- Cot request: Check the box Allow cot request if guests in this age range can request adding a cot.
- Cost per night (Main rate): Enter the additional cost per night for a child who falls within this age range.
- Additional Rates (if any): If your system includes multiple rates (e.g., Half Board), additional fields such as Cost per night (Rate Name) will appear. Enter here the specific cost for that rate, or leave it empty to use the Cost per night (Main rate).
8. Repeat the process to add all necessary cost bands (e.g., 0-2 years, 3-10 years, 11-16 years).
9. Once you have completed your changes, make sure to click on the main save button on the page (usually Save changes).
