This guide explains how to enable or disable the automatic assignment of a sponsor to new users who register without specifying an affiliate code.
Why do it:
To ensure that all new users are linked to a sponsor, even when they do not enter a code during registration.
Procedure
1. Log in to the administration panel and go to the Affiliation module settings.
2. Click on the Registration tab.
3. Scroll down to the section titled Auto-assignment.
4. In the row Automatically assign sponsor if not specified, locate the option:
- Enable automatic assignment
5. To enable automatic assignment: Make sure the box next to Enable automatic assignment is checked.
6. To disable automatic assignment: Uncheck the box next to Enable automatic assignment.
7. Save the changes at the bottom of the page to apply the configuration.
> Note: If automatic assignment is enabled, additional options will appear to define the Assignment criteria (for example, To the geographically closest user or Rotating among selected ones).
