Real-time search, Results structure, Box/List view, Main content, Sidebar, Configuration

Description: Adds a dynamic and structured search bar to your website, allowing users to quickly find specific content.

What is it for? (Practical examples)

This tool is essential to improve navigation and user experience on your site or in your reserved area.

  • Speed up search: Allows users to see results in real-time as they type, without having to load a new page.
  • Organize content: Structures search results into clear sections (main and sidebar) based on the type of content (e.g., Pages, Products, Blog Articles).
  • Improve accessibility: Provides a quick and intuitive access point to all system information.

Main features

The advanced search bar offers a range of features designed for maximum efficiency:

  • Real-time search (Live Search): Results are displayed immediately below the search bar as soon as the user starts typing.
  • Customizable result structure: It is possible to define which content categories should appear in the main area and which in the sidebar.
  • Tabbed view (Box): Results in the main area can be displayed in a tabbed format, including a preview image, title, and additional details.
  • List view (List): Results in the sidebar are displayed as simple links, often with a breadcrumb trail to contextualize the content’s location.
  • Quick close button: A dedicated icon allows closing the results panel and clearing the search text with a single click.

How to configure it

The advanced search bar is added to the site via the Visual Builder. Once the element is inserted, it can be configured through the panel options.

Configuration options

SettingDescription
ThemeAllows you to select the graphic appearance (colors, styles) of the search bar and results panel.
Main contentDefines the type of content to be shown in the central and most visible area of the results panel. At least one content type must be selected.
SidebarAllows selecting one or more content types to display in a separate column (sidebar). This is useful for offering secondary or related results.

Example configuration:

  • Main content: Products (shown with images and details).
  • Sidebar: Pages, Blog Articles (shown as simple links).

Automatic integrations

Integration in the Visual Builder

The "Advanced Search" module is available as a block in the Visual Builder. This allows you to place the search bar anywhere on your website (header, footer, specific pages) and manage its graphic appearance intuitively.

Unified search

This tool leverages the system’s central search engine. Any type of content made searchable in the system (e.g., products, pages, documents, users) will be available for selection and display within the advanced search panel.

Key differences

The "Advanced Search" differs from the standard search because it does not redirect the user to a separate results page but shows results in a dynamic panel that overlays the current page. Use this tool when you want to offer a fast and contextual search experience.
