Why do it: Use the Textarea field to allow your customers to enter long texts, such as special instructions or personalization messages, when purchasing a product.
Procedure
1. Access the Advanced Attributes settings.
2. Click the Add field button to create a new attribute.
3. In the section of the newly added field, fill in the following details:
- Field name: Enter the name that the user will see on the product (e.g., "Delivery instructions").
- Field type: Select Textarea from the dropdown menu.
4. (Optional) In the Placeholder field, enter sample text or a brief instruction that will appear inside the text box before the user writes.
5. (Optional) Check the Make required box if the user must fill out this field before adding the product to the cart.
6. (Optional) Check the Apply to all products box if you want this field to be automatically available for every product.
7. (Optional) Configure the Price variation and Additional price options if entering long text involves an extra cost.
8. Save changes.
Once saved, this field will appear on the product page for all products to which it has been applied.
