Track phone or email interactions (automatically or by specifying numbers/addresses)

This guide is intended for users who want to configure tracking of phone interactions (clicks on numbers) or email interactions (clicks on addresses) within an existing or new tracking project.


Guide to Tracking Phone and Email Interactions

This procedure allows you to automatically monitor when a user clicks on a phone number or an email address present on your site, and forward this data to third-party platforms (such as Google or Meta Ads).

1. Accessing Tracking Goals

1. Access the editing section of the desired tracking project (or create a new one).

2. Navigate to the Goals section (the second step of the configuration form).

3. Locate the box related to the goal you want to configure:

  • For calls: Telefono (phone icon).
  • For emails: Email (envelope icon).

4. Click the Activate button inside the chosen goal box.


2. Tracking Phone Interactions

After activating the Telefono goal, follow these steps to configure which numbers to track and how to manage them.

2.1 Configuring Numbers

1. Under the Telefono goal, look for the Numeri da Tracciare* section.

2. Select the desired tracking method:

  • Trova tutti i numeri in automatico: The system will automatically detect and track all phone numbers present on the site.
  • Inserisci manualmente i numeri da tracciare: Select this option if you want to track only specific numbers.
  • If you choose the manual option, a Numeri da tracciare section will appear. Click Aggiungi Telefono and enter the specific Numero Telefono you wish to monitor. Repeat for each number.

2.2 Number Masking (Optional)

You can hide phone numbers to prevent copying, forcing users to click to view them and thus ensuring tracking.

1. Look for the Copri numeri di telefono section.

2. Select the desired option:

  • Non coprire (Default value).
  • Copri sempre (Hides the number on both desktop and mobile).
  • Copri solo su Desktop (Hides the number only on computers).

3. If you choose to mask numbers, enter in the Testo per coprire il numero field the text that will appear instead of the number (e.g., "Visualizza Telefono").

2.3 External Tracking Configuration

1. Find the Tracking di terze parti box and check the Abilita box.

2. The Eventi [Piattaforma] section will appear (e.g., Google Ads Events, Meta Ads Events).

3. For each platform, verify or modify the Nome Evento (e.g., Contact, Lead, or Purchase).

  • Attention: If you change the event name, make sure it exactly matches what is configured in the third-party platform (Meta, Google, etc.).

4. Fill in any additional parameters required by the platform (e.g., Valore, Valuta).


3. Tracking Email Interactions

After activating the Email goal, follow these steps to configure which addresses to track and how to manage them.

3.1 Configuring Email Addresses

1. Under the Email goal, look for the Email da Tracciare* section.

2. Select the desired tracking method:

  • Trova tutti gli indirizzi email in automatico: The system will automatically detect and track all email addresses present on the site.
  • Inserisci manualmente gli indirizzi email da tracciare: Select this option if you want to track only specific addresses.
  • If you choose manual option, a Numeri da tracciare section will appear. Click Aggiungi Email and enter the specific Indirizzo Email you wish to monitor. Repeat for each address.

3.2 Email Address Masking (Optional)

You can hide email addresses to protect them from spam, forcing users to click to view them.

1. Look for the Copri indirizzi email section.

2. Select your preferred option:

  • Non coprire (Default value).
  • Copri sempre.
  • Copri solo su Desktop.

3. If you choose to mask addresses, enter in the Testo per coprire l'email field the text that will appear instead of the address (e.g., "Visualizza Email").

3.3 External Tracking Configuration

1. Similarly to phone tracking, find the Tracking di terze parti box and check Abilita.

2. Configure the Nome Evento and any additional parameters for third-party platforms.


4. Saving The Project

1. Once all configurations for Telefono and/or Email goals are completed, proceed with saving your project.

2. Click on the Salva button at the bottom of the form.

Interaction tracking will be active on your site.
