This guide shows you how to set up a tracking goal based on the scroll depth reached by a user on the page.
1. Activate the "Scroll" Goal
1. Log into your Tracking project and navigate to the Goals section.
2. Find the box related to the "Scroll" action and click the Activate button.
2. Define the Scroll Rule
Once the goal is activated, the configuration section will open.
1. Minimum Scroll Percentage:
- In the field labeled Minimum scroll percentage, enter the minimum percentage of the page that the user must scroll to trigger the goal (for example,
50for half the page).
2. Tracking Frequency:
- Under the label Track only once per session, check the box if you want the event to be recorded only the first time the user reaches that depth during their session. If you leave the box unchecked, the event will be tracked every time the user reloads the page and reaches that percentage.
3. Configure External Tracking (Optional)
If you have set up third-party Pixels or Tags (such as Meta Ads, Google Analytics, etc.) and want to send this event to them:
1. In the bottom right box, locate the label Third-Party Tracking.
2. Check the Enable box.
3. The Tracking Preference Container section will open. Here you can configure specific parameters (such as event_name or value) that will be sent to each external platform (Meta, Google, TikTok, etc.).
> Note: If you have not enabled any external tracking code (such as Facebook Pixel or Google Analytics) in the project's first section, you will see a warning You have not added any third-party tracking tags....
4. Add Additional Rules (Optional)
If you want to track multiple scroll thresholds (for example, one goal for 25% and a separate one for 75%):
1. Look for the Add Scroll button (if present) and click it.
2. Repeat steps 2 and 3 to configure the new scroll rule.
5. Save the Project
1. Once configuration is complete, make sure to save the project using the form's save button.
