This guide shows you how to set up a tracking goal based on the minimum duration a user spends on a page of your website.
Step-by-step Procedure
1. Access the Tracking Project:
- Log in to the Tracking Projects management area.
- Click on the project you want to modify (or create a new one).
2. Go to the Goals section:
- In the project editing screen, navigate to the section titled
Goals.
3. Activate the "Session Duration" goal:
- Locate the box related to the "Session Duration" goal.
- If the goal is deactivated, click the
Activatebutton in the box.
4. Configure the Minimum Session Duration:
- Inside the "Session Duration" box, you will find one or more rules (identified as "Session").
- If you want to add a new rule, click the "Add Session" button.
- In the
Minimum Duration*field, enter the numeric value (for example,10). - In the
Unitfield, select the unit of measurement for the duration: - Select
Seconds(to track, for example, 10 seconds). - Select
Minutes(to track, for example, 10 minutes).
5. Enable Tracking on External Platforms (Optional):
- If you want to send this session duration event to third-party platforms (such as Google, Facebook, etc.), locate the
Third-party Trackingbox. - Check the
Enablecheckbox. - The
Third-party Trackingsection will open where you can configure specific parameters for each platform (for example, event name).
6. Save Changes:
- Complete your project configuration and save to activate the new session duration tracking rules.
