This guide is intended for users who want to configure the tracking of additional data (such as titles, prices, or IDs) on visited pages using the visual selection tool.
Specify Selectors for Extra Data (Title, Value, Product/Category ID) during Page Visit
When configuring the "Page Visit" goal, you can specify which elements on the page contain relevant data (such as a product name or its value) so that this information is sent to external tracking systems (like Meta Ads or Google Ads).
Follow these steps to configure selectors for extra data:
Prerequisites
Make sure you are in the Tracking Project edit screen and that the Page Visit goal is active.
Configuration Procedure
1. Within the settings of the Page Visit goal, locate the configuration block related to the link or text you are tracking.
2. Inside this block, scroll down to the section titled:
Do you want to send extra data?
3. In this section, you will find fields to specify dynamic selectors:
Content TitleContent ValueProduct/Category ID
4. To specify a selector for one of these fields, click on the magic wand icon (<i class="fa fa-magic" aria-hidden="true"></i>) located next to the input field.
5. The Guided Selection window (Visual Selector) will open, loading your website in a panel.
6. Navigate to the page on your site containing the desired element (for example, a product page).
7. Click on the website element containing the data you want to track (for example, click on the product title if you are configuring the Content Title field).
- Tip: The visual selection tool will guide you in selecting the correct element. For example, for the
Content Titlefield, the window will be titled: "Select the element's title."
8. Once selected, the corresponding CSS selector will appear in the dialog box. Click Confirm.
9. The CSS selector will automatically be inserted into the input field.
10. Repeat steps 4 through 9 for other fields (Content Value and Product/Category ID) if needed.
Completion
After specifying all necessary dynamic selectors:
1. Scroll down and ensure that the Enable option under Third-Party Tracking is selected to send this data to external platforms.
2. Proceed with the next steps of the wizard and click Save to apply changes to the tracking project.
