This guide shows you how to add additional and custom data (called "parameters") to the tracking events you send to external platforms like Meta Ads or Google Ads.
These steps must be performed within the configuration of a specific tracking goal (for example, submitting a Form or clicking a button).
Define Custom Parameters for Tracking Events
1. Access the Goal Configuration
1. In the main menu, navigate to the Tracking management section.
2. Click on the tracking project you want to modify.
3. Go to the Goals section (the second step of the module).
4. Locate the goal (action) for which you want to define custom parameters (e.g., "Form Submission") and make sure it is Active.
2. Enable Third-Party Tracking
Within the goal configuration:
1. Find the section that allows enabling external tracking.
2. Check the box under the label Third-party tracking to Enable sending data to external platforms.
3. Add the Custom Parameter
Once external tracking is enabled, sections dedicated to each platform will appear (e.g., Facebook Events, Google Ads Events, etc.).
1. Locate the box related to the tracking platform where you want to send the extra parameter (e.g., Meta Ads Events).
2. Inside this box, scroll down to find the section titled Custom parameters.
3. Click on the Add parameter button. A new row with two fields will appear.
4. In the Field name field, enter the unique name that the external platform (e.g., Facebook) will use to identify this data (e.g.: shipping_method).
5. In the Value field, enter the value you want to associate with that name (e.g.: standard_shipping).
> Note: If the goal supports using a Dynamic Value (indicated by a hand-shaped icon), you can click on that link to automatically select a predefined value provided by the system (such as a product ID or a value from a Form field).
4. Save Changes
1. Repeat steps 3 and 4 to add all necessary custom parameters and for all relevant tracking platforms.
2. Once you have completed configuring the goal, scroll to the bottom of the module and click Save to apply the changes.
