Description: This tool allows you to associate and manage the web addresses (domains) used for public access to your site (Frontend) and for access to the administrative area (Backend).
What is it for? (Practical examples)
- Use it to link your company domain (e.g.,
mioprogetto.com) to the website you are building on the platform. - It allows you to define a customized URL for accessing the administrative area, making internal management easier.
- It enables you to create and manage additional domains to be used as specific landing pages for marketing campaigns, keeping all data within the same environment.
Main features
- Frontend Domain: Configuration of the main domain that users will use to visit your website.
- Backend Domain: Customization of the URL address used to access the platform's management and administration area.
- Hosting Options: Ability to choose between a free domain provided by the platform (subdomain) or a domain purchased externally.
- Additional Domains: Addition of secondary web addresses that can be linked to specific pages of the main site.
- Automatic Verification: The system verifies in real time the validity and availability of the entered domains and subdomains.
- Simplified Purchase: If you do not own a domain, you can start the purchase process directly from the configuration section.
How to configure
The configuration is divided into three main sections:
1. Frontend Domain (Public Site)
This section manages the web address your visitors will use:
| Option | Description |
|---|---|
| Free domain | Select this option to use a subdomain provided by the platform. You only need to enter the desired name (e.g., miosito) and the system will add the free suffix (e.g., .nomesuffisso.it). |
| Externally purchased domain | Select this option if you already own a domain. You will need to enter the full domain (e.g., mioprogetto.com). |
| My domains | Allows you to select a domain you have already purchased and registered through the platform. |
| DNS Information | Once an external domain is set, the system will provide you with the server IP address (IP Server) to which you must point the A record of your domain at your DNS provider. |
2. Backend Domain (Administrative Area)
This section allows you to define the access URL for the management area:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Backend access URL | Enter a unique name (e.g., adminmiosito). Access will be through this name followed by the backend reference domain (e.g., adminmiosito.iltuosistema.it). The name must be at least 3 characters long and must not contain special characters. |
3. Additional Domains (Landing Pages)
This section is ideal for those who want to link multiple web addresses to the same working environment, typically to create dedicated landing pages.
- Purpose: Each additional domain can be linked to a single internal page of your main site.
- Limitations: The number of additional domains you can configure is subject to the limits of your subscription plan.
- Management: Use the "Add domain" button to enter new addresses. Remember that for these domains you will also need to configure the A record so that they point to the server IP address provided.
Automatic integrations
The Domain Management module works closely with the rest of the platform to ensure a smooth transition in case of changes:
- Automatic update: When you save a change to the main domain, the system immediately updates all internal configurations and references to the new address.
- System notification: In case of a change of the main domain, the platform automatically notifies all modules and integrations that might depend on the old address, ensuring that links and cross-references remain valid.
- Performance optimization: After each save, the system performs an automatic cleanup of system caches and pages, ensuring that the site is served immediately with the new domain settings.
