This guide explains how to change the calculation type (aggregation) applied to a numerical data point (metric) within your report.
Guide: Changing the Aggregation Function of a Metric
1. Make sure you are in the Setup section of your report, located at the center of the screen.
2. Locate the section titled Data to Calculate (Values / Y-Axis). Here, the metrics you have added are listed.
3. Click on the chip of the metric you want to modify (for example, if you see "Amount (Sum)", click on that chip).
4. A modal window titled Edit Calculation will open.
5. In the Aggregation Function section, click on the dropdown menu to view available options. The options include:
- Total (COUNT)
- Sum (SUM)
- Average (AVG)
- Minimum (MIN)
- Maximum (MAX)
6. Select the new aggregation function you want to apply.
7. Click the Apply button to save the change.
The report will automatically update with the new calculation type applied to the selected metric. If you haven't saved the report yet, remember to click the Save button at the top right.
