This guide explains how to apply a filter based on a specific UTM code within a report.
Procedure to Filter Data by UTM Code
To filter data based on a UTM (Urchin Tracking Module) code, you need to add a specific filter in the report configuration panel.
1. Select the Data Source
In the left sidebar, under the Create new report section, click on the data source that contains tracking information (for example, Users, Subscriptions, or Web Tracking).
2. Access Configuration
Once the report is loaded, locate the Configuration panel (usually the first panel in the main section).
3. Add a New Filter
Inside the Configuration panel, scroll down to the section titled Filters.
Click on the dropdown menu labeled + Add below the filters area.
4. Select the UTM Field
From the dropdown menu, find and select the field named UTM.
5. Configure the Filter
A pop-up window titled Configure filter will appear. Here you must specify how to filter the data:
- Operator: Select your desired operator. In most cases, you can leave the default option Equals (
=). If you want to find data containing part of the UTM code, you can choose Contains (LIKE). - Value: In the empty text field, enter the exact UTM code you want to filter (e.g.,
facebookadscampaign_q4).
6. Save Filter Configuration
Click on the Save button in the pop-up window to apply the filter.
7. Refresh the Report
After adding the filter, click on the Refresh button (<i class="fa fa-refresh"></i> Refresh) located in the report header.
The report will reload showing only data associated with the specified UTM code in the filter.
How to Remove the Filter
To remove the UTM filter and view all data again:
1. In the Configuration panel, locate the UTM filter chip just created in the Filters section.
2. Click on the X icon (<i class="fa fa-times"></i>) on the right side of the chip to remove it.
3. Click on the Refresh button to recalculate the report without the filter.
