The configuration of DKIM (DomainKeys Identified Mail) records is a fundamental step to improve your sender reputation and ensure that your emails are delivered correctly, avoiding them ending up in the spam folder.
This guide shows you how to retrieve the necessary records from the system and then configure them in your domain management panel (for example cPanel, Cloudflare, etc.).
DKIM Configuration Guide (Advanced Authentication)
Prerequisite: To view the DKIM records, the sender's Email address must have been validated (green alert) or be pending approval (blue alert).
Step-by-Step Procedure
1. Access Sender Settings
- Go to the senders section in your control panel.
- Click on the sender email for which you want to enable advanced authentication.
2. Verify the Type
- Make sure that the
Typefield is set toUse for emails.
3. Locate the Advanced Authentication Section
- On the edit screen, scroll down until you find the section titled Advanced Authentication.
- In this section, the system will provide you with a table of parameters to configure, accompanied by the message:
Set the following parameters in your domain's DNS settings to improve the delivery rate of sent emails.
4. Copy the DNS Records
- For each row in the table (there are usually 3 records), you need to copy exactly the values of the three columns:
- Type: The value will always be
CNAME. - Name: Copy the full address (e.g.,
token1._domainkey.yourdomain.com). - Value: Copy the full address (e.g.,
token1.dkim.amazonses.com).
5. Configure the Records in Your Domain's DNS Panel
- Access your domain control panel (the service where you registered your domain or manage DNS, such as GoDaddy, Aruba, cPanel, etc.).
- Look for the section managing DNS Records (or "Zone Editor").
- For each row copied at step 4, create a new DNS record:
- Record Type: Select
CNAME. - Name/Host: Paste the value copied from the Name column.
- Value/Target: Paste the value copied from the Value column.
6. Save and Wait for Propagation
- Save changes in your DNS panel.
- Propagation of these records can take from a few minutes up to 48 hours depending on your provider. The system will automatically verify correct configuration. Once records are active, advanced authentication will be complete.
> Note: If you are not sure how to access or modify your domain's DNS records, contact your hosting provider’s or domain registrar’s technical support.
