This guide explains how to set the encryption (security) protocol used for sending emails (outgoing server). These settings are found on the email account configuration edit screen.
Follow these steps to select the encryption protocol:
1. Make sure you are in the Outgoing section of the configuration.
2. Locate the field labeled Encryption. This field is usually near the Port, SMTP Login, and SMTP Password fields.
3. Click on the dropdown menu of the Encryption field.
4. Select one of the following options, based on your mail provider's requirements:
- None: No encryption protocol is used.
- SSL: Uses the Secure Sockets Layer protocol.
- TLS: Uses the Transport Layer Security protocol.
5. After selecting the protocol, it is recommended to verify the connection by clicking the Verify Connection button.
6. Save the changes to apply the new encryption setting.
