This guide explains how to manually set a new password for a customer or how to automatically generate and send new login credentials via email.
1. Access the Customer Tab
1. From the main customer list, locate the desired customer.
2. Click on the edit button (usually the pencil icon) to open the customer's edit tab.
2. Manual Password Change
This procedure allows you to set a specific password for the customer.
1. In the customer's edit tab, navigate to the Login section (it might be the last step of the wizard or a separate tab).
2. Make sure the Enable Login checkbox is checked.
3. If creating a new customer, ensure that the Generate and send credentials checkbox is NOT checked, so that the password fields are visible.
4. Enter the new password in the Password field.
- Note for existing customers: If you do not want to change the password, leave this field empty (
Leave empty to not modify).
5. Re-enter the same password in the Confirm Password field.
6. If the Email confirmed checkbox is not checked, the customer will need to confirm their email address via a link before being able to log in.
7. Click on the Save button (usually at top right) to apply changes.
3. Generate and Send Random Credentials (Password Reset)
This procedure generates a random password and automatically sends it to the customer's email address.
Method A: During Customer Creation/Edit
This method is useful if you want the system to handle password creation.
1. In the customer's edit tab, navigate to the Login section.
2. Ensure that the Enable Login checkbox is checked.
3. Check the Generate and send credentials box.
- Note: Checking this option will hide the Password and Confirm Password fields because the system will create the password automatically.
4. Click on Save. The customer will receive an email containing the newly generated password.
Method B: Using Actions Button (For Existing Customers)
This method is the quickest way to reset an existing customer's credentials.
1. In the customer's edit tab, look at the sidebar panel (or in the user-preview-actions section).
2. Click on the Generate and send credentials via email button.
3. Confirm when prompted by the system.
- Warning: This action immediately resets the customer's old password and sends new login details via email.
4. The system will notify you once new credentials have been sent.
