Select the type of field (e.g., input, textarea, select)

This guide explains how to define the main function of a field (for example, whether it is a simple text field, a long text area, or a dropdown menu).

Prerequisites

You need to be on the Form editing screen, within the Fields section, and have added or be editing a field.

Step-by-Step Procedure

1. Access the field settings:

Locate the field you want to configure within the Fields section.

2. Locate the Field Type:

Within the field settings, look for the label Field Type. Under this label, there is a dropdown menu.

3. Select the desired type:

Click on the dropdown menu and choose the type that best describes the function of the field. The available options define how the field will be displayed and how it will collect data (for example, a simple text field, a multiline text area, or a selection field).

4. Define the Input Type (if necessary):

Depending on your previous choice, an additional option called Input Type may appear.

  • If the selected field is a generic type (such as a simple Input), use the Input Type dropdown menu to further specify the expected data format (e.g., Text, Email, Numeric, Date, Password, etc.).

5. Configure specific settings:

Once types are selected, the platform will automatically display additional relevant settings for that type of field (for example:

  • If you choose a Numeric type field, fields for defining Minimum Value and Maximum Value will appear.
  • If you choose a Select or Single Choice type field, a section to define Select Values or options will appear.
  • If you choose a Text Area type field, the Number of Rows field will appear).

6. Save changes:

After configuring all specific options, proceed with saving the Form to apply changes.
