Create a copy of an existing page

Why do it:

This procedure allows you to quickly duplicate the content and settings of an existing page, using it as a base for a new page.

Procedure:

1. Access the main page management screen, where the complete list of pages (Page, Slug, Type, etc.) is displayed.

2. Locate the page you want to duplicate within the table.

3. In the row corresponding to the page, click on the actions menu (usually represented by a gear icon or three dots) and select the Copy option.

4. The system will load the edit screen (edit.php), pre-filled with all the data from the original page.

5. In the Page section (the first step of the editing wizard):

  • Edit the Page Title* field (mandatory) to give a unique name to the new page.
  • Edit the Slug* field. The Slug is the web address of the page; it is essential that it differs from that of the original page.

6. If necessary, you can also modify the Parent Page or the Slug Divider to change the position of the page in the site hierarchy.

7. Make all necessary changes to the content (in the Page Body field) and other settings (such as SEO and Preferences).

8. When finished with your changes, click on the save button (usually Save or Complete) to create the new page.

> Note: Since you are creating a new page, the system will assign it a new ID and treat it as a separate record. If the original page was hidden, make sure that the Show on site box is checked if you want the copy to be immediately visible.
