Add a widget to the dashboard

This guide shows you how to add a new widget (a chart or a table) to your custom dashboard.

Widgets are based on predefined or custom Reports that define the data to display.

Adding a Widget to the Dashboard

1. Access the Dashboard

  • In the left sidebar, under the Dashboards section, click on the dashboard you want to edit.
  • If you don't have a dashboard yet, click the + icon next to Dashboards to create a new one.

2. Open the Add Widget Menu

  • If the dashboard is empty, click the large Add Widget button in the center of the screen.
  • If the dashboard already contains widgets, click the Add Widget button at the top right.

3. Select the Data Source

  • A dropdown menu will open listing the available data sources (for example, Saved Reports, Users, etc.).
  • Click on the data source you want to use for your new widget.

4. Display the Widget

  • The system will automatically create a new default report and add it to your dashboard as a widget.
  • The widget will appear on the grid with a temporary title (...) and start loading data.

5. Configure the Widget (Optional)

  • To customize the data, metrics, or chart type of the widget, click on the pencil icon (<i class="fa fa-pencil"></i>) located at the top right corner of the widget.
  • This will open the configuration sidebar. Once you finish making changes, click the Done button to apply them.

6. Save the Dashboard

  • After adding and positioning the widget on the grid, click the Save button at the top right to save your dashboard configuration. You will be asked to assign or confirm the name of the dashboard.
