Add groupings (pivot) to the report

This guide shows you how to use grouping (pivot) fields to display your data in a cross-tab table, where the columns are determined by a specific field (for example, grouping sales by Month).

Prerequisites: You must have already created or loaded a Report and be on the configuration screen.


Procedure to Add Groupings

1. Access Report Configuration

Make sure you are in the Report configuration mode (the left sidebar shows the sections Columns / Dimensions, Grouping (Col), and Metrics (Values)).

2. Open the Grouping Section

In the sidebar, locate the section titled Grouping (Col). Click on the pencil icon (<i class="fa fa-pencil"></i>) next to the label to open the field selector.

3. Select Pivot Fields

The Select fields panel will open.

  • Choose one or more fields you want to use to create pivot columns (for example, if you choose "State", the table will show a separate column for each available state).

4. Confirm Selection

After selecting the desired fields, click the Confirm button at the bottom of the panel.

5. View the Result

The selected fields will now appear under the label Grouping (Col). The system will automatically recalculate the report to display the new pivot table in the main section.

> Note: Groupings (Pivot) are especially useful when viewing data in Table format. If you are viewing a chart, groupings may affect how data series are drawn.
