How to edit an existing Global Content Block

Why do it

Editing a Global Content Block allows you to update text, images, or display settings of content that appears in multiple places on the website.

Procedure

1. Access the section listing the Global Content Blocks.

2. Locate the block you want to edit within the table by checking the ID, Title, and Last Modified columns.

3. Double-click on the block's row or select it and click the edit button to open the editing screen.

4. In the first section, Content, you can modify the main details of the block:

  • Update the block name in the Global block title field.
  • If necessary, change the block's Type using the dropdown menu.
  • Edit the main content of the block in the text area labeled Content.

5. Go to the Display options section (visible only if the block Type is not "default").

6. In the main section, set how the block should be displayed:

  • Use the Automatically display dropdown menu to decide whether the block should be automatically inserted into pages (Yes or No).
  • Set a numeric value in the Display order field to define display priority relative to other blocks.

7. In the Limit by link subsection, define where the block should or should not appear:

  • In the Show ONLY on these pages field, enter URLs of specific pages where the block should be shown.
  • In the Do NOT show on these pages field, enter URLs of specific pages where the block should be hidden.

Saving

8. Once all changes are complete, click on the Save changes button to apply updates to the Global Content Block.
