This guide shows you how to use the search function to quickly find available fields (Dimensions, Metrics, or Filters) when setting up a Report or Widget.
Searching for a Field (During Selection)
To search for a field, you first need to access the field selection panel:
1. Make sure you are in the configuration mode of the Report or Widget (the sidebar shows sections like Columns / Dimensions, Metrics (Values), etc.).
2. Click on the pencil icon (<i class="fa fa-pencil"></i>) or the plus icon (<i class="fa fa-plus"></i>) next to the section where you want to add or modify fields (for example, next to Metrics (Values)).
3. The Select Fields side panel will open.
4. At the top of this panel, locate the text box with the placeholder: Search field....
5. Click inside the box and start typing the name of the field you are looking for.
6. The list of fields below (field-list-container) will automatically and instantly filter, showing only fields that contain the text you typed.
Once you have found the desired field, you can select it by checking the box next to its name and clicking Confirm.
