This guide is intended for users who want to configure the feedback messages displayed to the end user after submitting a form.
Guide: Enable management of success or error messages after submission
This procedure allows you to customize the message (such as "Thank you for contacting us!") that appears on the website after a user has completed and submitted the form.
Prerequisite: You must have already created or be in the process of editing the form you want to configure.
Step-by-Step Procedure
Follow these steps to enable and customize feedback messages:
1. Access the "Actions" section
1. Open the form you want to edit.
2. In the form editing panel, navigate to the second step of the wizard, titled Actions.
2. Select the Action and enable message management
Message management is available within each active action (for example, "Send generic email," "Register customer," etc.).
1. Locate the Action for which you want to configure messages (for example, the action handling email sending).
2. Make sure the action is Active (the action box should be highlighted).
3. Scroll inside the action box down to the section titled Message Management.
4. In the Message Management row, check the box:
[ ] Show a message after submission
Once checked, the message customization section will open.
3. Customize feedback messages
After enabling message management, one or more boxes will appear allowing you to customize different states (e.g., success or error) of submission.
1. Scroll down and locate boxes with titles indicating the type of message (e.g., "Success Message" or "Generic Error Message").
2. For each box, enter your desired content:
- Title: Enter a short title of the message that will appear to the user.
- Text: Enter the full text of the feedback message. You can use this space to thank the user or explain why submission failed.
4. Save changes
1. Once you have finished customizing messages for all desired actions, proceed to the end of the wizard.
2. Click on the save button to apply changes to the form.
Note: If you do not enable message management, the system will use default feedback messages. By enabling this option, you have full control over what the user sees.
