Define the name of a field (also through translation)

This guide explains how to assign a visible name to a field within your form and how to provide the necessary translations for the different active languages on your site.

The field name is the text that the end user sees next to the input field (for example, "Your name", "Email", etc.).

Step-by-Step Procedure

Follow these steps to define or modify the name of a field in your form:

1. Access the Field Settings

1. Log in to the section for editing the form you want to configure.

2. Navigate to the section titled Fields.

3. Locate the field you want to modify and click on it to expand its settings.

2. Define the Main Field Name

1. Within the field settings, look for the label Field Name.

2. In the text box below the label, type the name you want to assign to the field in your site's main language.

3. Add Translations (Optional)

If your site uses multiple languages, you can translate the field name so users see the correct text based on their selected language:

1. Next to the Field Name label, look for the icon or symbol indicating translation functionality (often represented by a globe or flag icon).

2. Click on the translation icon. A dedicated window or panel will open.

3. For each listed language, enter the desired translation for the field name.

4. Confirm and close the translation window.

4. Save Changes

1. Once you've defined the name and any translations, make sure to save the entire form.

2. Proceed through the form saving wizard steps until completion.

> Note: If you do not manually set the Field ID in advanced settings, the system will use the text entered in Field Name (formatted for technical use) as a unique identifier for the field.
