Guide: Specifying the Resource Slug (Friendly URL)

Why do it:

The Slug is the final part of the web address (URL) that identifies your resource. Specifying a clear and concise Slug helps users and search engines understand the content of the file.

Procedure

1. Access the resource (file) editing screen.

2. Make sure you are in the Files section (the first section of the editing form).

3. The system automatically generates the Slug based on the content entered in the File Title field.

4. Locate the field labeled Slug.

5. If you want to use a different web address than the one generated automatically, click on the Slug field and type your preferred version.

  • Note: Use only lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens (-). Avoid spaces or special characters.

6. Once you have specified the desired Slug, complete the other necessary information.

7. Click the button to Save changes (usually located at the bottom of the page or in the top control panel).

> Important: If the Slug you specified is already in use by another resource, the system will automatically modify it by adding a numeric suffix (e.g., file-name-2) to ensure uniqueness.
