This guide explains how to customize which input fields are visible and mandatory within the different sections of a checkout.
Procedure
1. Access the edit screen of the Checkout you want to configure.
2. Make sure you are in the first step of the process, titled Content.
3. Scroll down to the section titled Fields to show. Here you will find the different sections of your checkout (e.g., Personal data, Shipping address, etc.), organized in panels.
1. Enable or disable an entire Section
To decide whether an entire block of fields should be shown or hidden:
1. Locate the section you want to modify (for example, the "Personal data" section).
2. In the section title bar, on the right side, find the tools icon (ibox-tools).
3. Click on the checkbox next to the section title to enable it (checked) or disable it (unchecked).
- Note: If the checkbox is disabled and checked, it means that the section is mandatory and cannot be hidden.
2. Enable or disable a specific Field
Within an enabled section, you can choose which specific fields to show:
1. Open the desired section (if it’s not already open).
2. Inside the section, you will see a list of available fields (e.g., First name, Last name, Email, etc.).
3. For each field, on the right side of its name, you will find a checkbox.
4. Check the checkbox to enable the field (make it visible) or uncheck it to disable it (hide it).
3. Make a Field Mandatory
To force users to fill out a specific field:
1. Locate the field you have enabled (step 2).
2. Next to the field name and its enable checkbox, you may find a small additional checkbox labeled Mandatory field (hovering over the icon).
3. Check this checkbox to set the field as mandatory.
4. Saving
1. Once you have completed changes to fields and sections, click on the Save button at the bottom of the page to apply the new configurations.
