Within this tutorial, we will see how to add the option of "pick up at location" shipping to our e-commerce website built on Framework360.
Let's create the "pick up at location" shipping
Firstly, let's access the "Shipping" section in the left sidebar menu by following these steps:
Sale > Shipping
Once inside the "Shipping" section, we click on the green "Add" button at the top right to create a new shipping method.
In the shipping creation screen, we will find two tabs: "General" and "Availability".
Let's see how to set each of them.
Tab "General"
Within this tab, we enter the name of the shipment we are creating, in our case, we will call it "Pickup on Site". We also include a brief description, for example "Pick up your order at our headquarters". Regarding the price, we set it to zero since we do not wish to charge any cost to the customer for picking up the order at our headquarters.
Tab "Availability"
In the "Availability" tab, let's focus on filling out two fields: "Shipping method availability" and "Selected countries". For other fields, the completion does not differ from setting up a generic shipment.
For the "Shipping method availability" field, we have several options:
- "Worldwide": everyone can access the pickup on site.
- "Selected countries only": we enable pickup on site only for the countries that we will enter in the "Selected countries" field.
Moving on to the section "Selected Countries", we add the countries where we want to enable the option set in "Shipping Method Availability".
If we wish to limit the in-store pickup to Italy only (since it's unlikely that someone from abroad will come to pick up a product at our Italian headquarters), we select the "Selected Countries Only" option under "Shipping Method Availability" and enter only Italy in the "Selected Countries" section.
