What is remarketing?

For remarketing, it refers to one or more email campaigns targeted at users who have not taken a certain action. It is used to bring these users back to their steps and possibly get them to complete what they had started.

We'll give you an example to help you better understand the concept.

When a user adds one or more products to the cart and then does not complete the purchase, they can be sent an email to remind them that they have not completed the order or to tell them that there are only a few pieces left of that particular product, so as to hurry them and encourage the purchase. This is remarketing.

It can also concern notification emails, such as the upcoming expiration of a subscription, or specific and exclusive treatments, such as a discount on the user's birthday.

Difference between remarketing and retargeting

Many people use the words remarketing and  retargeting as synonyms, but they are not exactly the same thing, even though the end goal is the same.

The difference lies in the strategy: remarketing occurs via email, while retargeting focuses on advertising with tools like Google ADS and Facebook ADS.
