Description: Integration module that connects your order management system with the Packlink Pro platform for automatic creation, quoting, and tracking of shipments.
What is it for? (Practical examples)
This tool is essential for those who manage online sales and want to automate the shipping process:
- Quick shipment generation: You can create a Packlink shipment directly from an order page by selecting the courier and immediately viewing the cost.
- Automatic tracking: Synchronizes the shipment progress status (In transit, Delivered) with the order status in your system.
- Dimension management: Allows you to save the physical dimensions (length, width, height) of each product, ensuring accurate shipping quotes.
Main features
1. Product dimension management
To obtain correct shipping quotes, it is essential that the system knows the exact dimensions of what you are shipping.
- Where it is located: In the edit tab of each product (within the E-commerce section), there is a tab called Dimensions.
- Fields to fill: You need to enter the Length, Width, and Height of the product in centimeters (cm).
2. Creation and management of shipments (Orders)
Within the detail page of each sale or order, there is a panel dedicated to Packlink.
If the shipment has not yet been created:
1. The system calculates available quotes in real time based on the dimensions of products in the order and sender and recipient addresses.
2. A list of available couriers with their respective prices is displayed.
3. Select the desired courier.
4. Click on the Create shipment button to generate the shipment on the Packlink portal.
If the shipment has been created:
- Completion: If the shipment status is "Pending completion," you can click Complete shipment to be redirected to the Packlink portal and finalize details.
- Status: The system shows the current status of the shipment (e.g., In transit).
- Cancellation: You can cancel the shipment by clicking on Delete shipment.
3. Quick and bulk actions
In the sales summary table (billing), a column has been added indicating whether an order has been sent to Packlink ("Sent" or "Not sent").
- Multiple sending: It is possible to select multiple orders not yet shipped and use the bulk actions menu to send them to Packlink all at once, choosing which courier to use for all selected orders.
How to configure
The configuration of the Packlink module consists of two phases: authentication and sender setup.
1. API connection (Authentication)
To link your Packlink account to the software, you must provide your API key:
| Option | Description |
|---|---|
| Api Key | Enter the API key provided by Packlink Pro. This key allows secure communication between your system and the shipping platform. |
2. Sender data
The system uses standard company billing data as default sender address.
- Where it is located: In the module Settings section, under Sender Data.
- Function: This panel allows you to view and, if necessary, override default data (name, address, postal code, city, etc.) that will be used as a starting point for all shipments.
Automatic integrations
The Packlink module ensures that your order statuses are always up-to-date without manual intervention.
Automatic status synchronization
The system periodically performs scheduled automatic operations to check Packlink shipment statuses.
- Benefit: When Packlink updates a shipment status (for example, from "Pending completion" to "In transit" or "Delivered"), the system automatically updates the corresponding order status in your management software.
- Tracking: If a tracking URL is provided by the shipment, it is automatically saved in the order's shipping data.
Quote calculation
When viewing an order page, the system performs these automatic calculations:
- Address identification: Automatically retrieves sender address (from module settings) and recipient address (from order shipping data).
- Weight/volume calculation: Uses weight and dimensions (Length, Width, Height) entered for each product to calculate total volume to ship, necessary for obtaining accurate quotes from couriers.
